 Sun Joy Beauty Nessebar 2026 XXIV International Children's Festival 

Invites children's and youth creative groups and teams from Bulgaria and abroad to participate in the program of the XXIV International Children's Festival "Sun, Joy, Beauty" - Nessebar 2026. The festival is held annually under the patronage of the Mayor of the town of Nessebar from June 15 to June 20 on the Black Sea coast. 

Nessebar is located on the Black Sea coast, has a millennial history, it is unique in its location, among sand dunes and vegetation, with spacious beaches, hot sun and a rich history. In  1983, Nessebar was declared by UNESCO as the City-Museum, Archaeological and  Architectural Reserve. ХXIV International Children’s Festival "Sun, Joy, Beauty" - Nessebar 2026  is held with the participation of creative teams and performers from Bulgaria and other countries. The organizers of the events are Nessebar Municipality, Municipal Children's Complex - Nessebar, National Palace of Children - Sofia.  The purpose of the organizers is to develop children's and youth creativity through communication between leaders and children from different countries and to unite young people into creative unions. The festival also contributes to familiarizing them with the culture and natural landmarks of Bulgaria. 

 Conditions for holding the festival 

Collectives, chamber formations, ensembles and solo performers can take part in the festival.

Participants' age is determined as of 31.12.2026!

 VOCAL Section 

Collective and individual performances 

1. Performances in the "Vocal" category are live with musical accompaniment or backing vocals of the participant's choice. 

Playback and dubbing of the soloist is not allowed. 

2. Vocal formations are composed of at least two participants. 

3. Duration: up to 5 minutes per song. 

4. For participants in the "Folklore song" category: -  Participants perform two folk songs. 

5. For participants in the "Classical singing" category: 

-     Participants perform two folk songs. 

6. Participants in the category "Entertaining and pop song" perform two songs, one of the performances must be in their native language.  

INSTRUMENTAL Section 

Collective and individual performances 

1.  Performances in the Instrumental category are live with musical accompaniment or a participant's choice. 

Participants perform two plays. 

    CHOREOGRAPHY section 

Collective and individual performances 

Each group must present two dances in each genre category. 

І. "Folk Dance" Category  

Dance folklore groups – ensembles, formations, chamber groups. 

1. Authentic folk dance;  

2. Finished folk dance – national folklore from the country of the performers;  3. Stylized folk dance: - under folk music;  

- folk choreography to modern music with stylized folk costumes and costumes. 

Number of participants: 

- in chamber dance groups - up to 8 people  

- in dance groups and ensembles without restriction. 

 Duration: Chamber groups to present a program of up to 8 min;  

Dance ensembles up to 15 min;  

Recommendations: Chamber dances should have a thematic or plot form. 

ІІ. "Classic dance" category  

An original Choreography of the classic heritage or a new interpretation of known excerpts from ballet works is presented. Performances must be sustained in the style of classic dance. The movements used from classical vocabulary should be tailored to the age of performers. 

ІІІ. "Typical dance" Category 

The choreography has the character of folk dances of everyday life from different nationalities belonging to the genre category. 

 ІV. "Modern dance" Category  

Performances in this category can be in the styles: jazz dance, contemporary dance, graham, neo classical, etc. 

 V. "Street dance" Category  

Performances from this genre category must be of high artistic merit in the style of HipHop dance and can include all styles of street dance: New Style, Free dance, Locking & Popping, Krumping, Clowndancing, Break dance, etc. 

 VІ. "Standard and Latin Dancing" Category 

 Composition to be formed on the basis of the five standard, Latin American dances, salsa, meringue, bacha, etc. 

   The presentation of the formations (incl. entering and exit) should not exceed 5 minutes. 

Partner lifts are not allowed.  

Formations composition:  

a) Children's formations / I age group / - for a formation of 8 pairs - two can be adolescent, in 6 pairs - one.  

b) Junior formations / II age group / - for a formation of 8 pairs - two can be youthful, in 6 pairs - one.  

c) formations with dancers over 19 years - young people have the right to participate.  The story form is recommended.  

NON-STANDARD FORMS Section 

Pantomima, Steppe, Sports Rock and Roll, Artistic Word, Circus Acrobatics, Illusionists, Fashion, etc. 

 ART Section 

On 16.06. the plein air is opened. Draw up to three works with a size of 35/50 cm - without restrictions on the type of drawing materials.  

Each participant draws with their own materials. The awarded works remain in the festival fund. 

 General conditions 

Those wishing to take part in the competition should fill in the Application for Participation by 30 April 2026. 

The application form is to be completed in the Google form on the website of the Municipal 

Children’s Complex – Nesebar, in the section Festivals and Competitions – Application

For each entry — whether an individual performer, a group, a section, or a category —  a separate application must be submitted.

 1. The participants present in the competition 2 /two/ performances with a maximum duration of 5 minutes each in each applied style of nomination. 

2. Individual participants can compete in a maximum of two nominations. 

3. The leaders of the groups bear a responsibility: 

- for accidents and injuries to performers on stage; 

- for the behavior of the group members during the events of the festival. 

4. Participants are responsible for their own costumes, props and personal belongings. 

5. The music for the performances must be submitted together with the application form. Each file must include the following information – Title of the performance, performer’s name, city, and country.  e.g. ‘Hurt – Ivan Ivanov – Burgas – Bulgaria’ 

(Please bring a backup copy of the music for your performances on a USB flash drive!) 

6. The same performance that competes in a given style and age group is not eligible to compete in another style of competition. 

7. The expenses for the residence of the groups and their accompanying persons regarding travel, daily and overnight expenses are at the expense of the participants. 

8. Formations in which performers from more age groups participate in the age group of the oldest participant. 

9. Organizers reserve the right to photograph, film, record and distribute execution from the competition program without paying rights and benefits. 

10. The schedule for the order of performance is determined by the organizational committee  5 days before the start of the competition. Changes are not allowed. 

11. It is a jury right to determine which award - winning participants will be presented at the Gala Concert. 

Information about which participants and groups are included in the gala concert will be published on June 19, 2026 after 13:00 at https://odknesebar.com/novini/ .   12. On 13, 14 and 15 June the organizers hold technical conferences with group leaders. 

13. The nomination and award ranking will be carried out on June 19, 2026 on a schedule determined by the organizers. 

14. The event organisers provide transportation only for the opening and closing of the festival.  

On the days of the competition the participants need to find their own means of transportation to the festival stages. 

 AWARDS 

 The ones who take І, ІІ, ІІІ place in each nomination and age group receive a diploma, plaque or medal.  

Each group and individual performer receives a diploma for participation.  

The jury awards a great award - the Grand Prix for each section: Vocal, Instrumental; Choreography; Art. 

Nessebar Municipality has established a prize for: "Music Educator"; "Vocal teacher"; "Choreographer - educator" and "Artist - educator".

 NESSEBAR - ISLAND OF ARTS  2026  XI International Festival



 XI International Festival "NESSEBAR - ISLAND OF ARTS" - 2026 will be held with the participation of ensembles, creative collectives, choirs, formations and performers from Bulgaria and other countries.

The Municipality of Nessebar, Municipal Children's Comple – Nessebar are the organizers of the competition.  Children and youth from all over the world can participate in the XI International Festival "NESSEBAR - ISLAND OF ARTS" - 2026. All young people have the opportunity to show their qualities and talents. Nessebar - a city of world cultural heritage will become a big scene of the arts. 

We hope that the meeting of history and art will inspire and illuminate many new talents, and a special atmosphere to be created by the meeting of different cultures, traditions, religions.

The festival is organized annually from July 2 to July 6 in Nessebar, Republic of Bulgaria.

XIV International Art Festival "Constellations in Nessebar"20 - 24 August 2026

 

Invites children's and youth creative teams and individual performers to participate in the program of the XIV International Art Festival "Constellations in Nessebar" 2026. 

The festival is held annually from 20 to 24 August in the town of Nessebar, on the Black Sea coast. Unique in its location, among gold dunes and green vegetation, the small peninsula is the place where the throbbing modern has retained the spirit of past times to create that unique appearance of Nessebar, which grabs the heart of everyone who saw it only once. In 1983, Nessebar was declared by UNESCO as the CityMuseum, Archaeological and Architectural Reserve.

 Children and young people from all over the world take part in the Festival "Contelutions in Nessebar". The organizers of the event are Nessebar Municipality and the Nessebar Municipal Children's Complex. 

In the days of the competition, the city of world cultural heritage becomes a colorful scene of art and beauty, enabling all young people to show their skills and talents. Here they meet different cultures and traditions, and the festival atmosphere illuminates and inspires the participants and guests of the town. 

The purpose of the organizers is to develop children's and youth creativity through communication between leaders and children from different countries and to unite young people into creative unions. The festival also contributes to familiarizing them with the culture and natural landmarks of Bulgaria.

On 21.08. the plein air is opened. Draw up to three works with a size of 35/50 cm - without restrictions on the type of drawing materials.  

Each participant draws with their own materials.

The awarded works remain in the festival fund.

General conditions

 

Those wishing to take part in the competition should fill in the Application for Participation by 15 July 2026.

The application form is to be completed in the Google form on the website of the Municipal Children’s Complex – Nesebar, in the section Festivals and Competitions – Application Forms.  https://odknesebar.com/zayavki-za-uchastie/ For each entry — whether an individual performer, a group, a section, or a category — a separate application must be submitted.

1.                 The participants present in the competition 2 /two/ performances with a maximum duration of 5 minutes each in each applied style of nomination, if no other requirements are specified in the conditions of the specific nomination.

2.                 Individual participants can compete in a maximum of two nominations.

3.                 The leaders of the groups bear a responsibility:

-   for accidents and injuries to performers on stage;

-   for the behavior of the group members during the events of the festival.

4.                 Participants are responsible for their own costumes, props and personal belongings.

5.                 The music for the performances must be submitted together with the application form. Each file must include the following information – Title of the performance, performer’s name, city, and country. e.g. ‘Hurt – Ivan Ivanov – Burgas – Bulgaria’

(Please bring a backup copy of the music for your performances on a USB flash drive!)

6.                 The same performance that competes in a given style and age group is not eligible to compete in another style of competition.

7.                 The expenses for the residence of the groups and their accompanying persons regarding travel, daily and overnight expenses are at the expense of the participants.

8.                 Formations in which performers from more age groups participate in the age group of the oldest participant.

9.                 Organizers reserve the right to photograph, film, record and distribute execution from the competition program without paying rights and benefits.

10.             The schedule for the order of performance is determined by the organizational committee  5 days before the start of the competition. Changes are not allowed.

11.             It is a jury right to determine which award -winning participants will be presented at the Gala Concert.

Information about which participants and groups are included in the gala concert will be published on August 24, 2026 after 13:00 at https://odknesebar.com/novini/ .

12.             On August 19 and 20, the organizers hold technical conferences with group leaders.

13.             The nomination and award ranking will be carried out on August 24, 2026 on a schedule determined by the organizers.

14.The event organisers provide transportation only for the opening and closing of the festival. 

On the days of the competition the participants need to find their own means of transportation to the festival stages.

 

 

AWARDS

 

The ones who take І, ІІ, ІІІ place in each nomination and age group receive a diploma, plaque or medal. 

Each group and individual performer receives a diploma for participation. 

The jury awards a great award - the Grand Prix for each section: Vocal, instrumental; Choreography; Art.

Nessebar Municipality has established a prize for: "Music Educator"; "Vocal teacher"; "Choreographer - educator" and "Artist - educator".

-       For individual participation in one category and participation in a group, the fee is 60 BGN (VAT included) / 30.68 €;

In the case of two or more children from one family participate together in the competition program of the respective festival, the fee for the second and next child is paid with a 50 percent discount.

Organizatorzy odpowiadają za całościową realizację programu festiwalu i koncertu  i posiadają  wszelkie prawa do występów podczas festiwalu, takie jak reklamai emisje programów koncertowych za pośrednictwem mediów prywatnych, krajowych  i publicznych, publikacja materiałów audiowizualnych itp. materiały i ich dystrybucję

w Bułgarii i za granicą, bez żadnych zobowiązań wobec uczestników.

After the Winter round - Participation quotas for the finals in Bulgaria will be announced on the web site of the tournament

– Packages offers will be sent to participants by the official travel agency of the tournament.

– The schools must send a list of their participants in the final round.

The schools must arrange their own participants' accommodation in Nessebar with the official tour agency of the tournament.

 The participants will be able to receive a free Visa through an official invitation sent by the organisers.

Тhe final version of the programme of the tournament and the participants hall allocation list with a specified starting time for both the individual and team competitions will be published on the website.

REGULATIONS

1. The tournament is for students aged 8 to 18 years, who will be divided into nine age groups.

Group 1: 7-8 years old students (starting from the Winter round)

Group 2: 8-9 years old students

Group 3: 9-10 years old students

Group 4: 10-11 years old students

Group 5: 11-12 years old students

Group 6: 12-13 years old students

Group 7: 13-14 years old students

Group 8: 14-15 years old students

Group 9: 15-18 years old students


2. The tournament is held remotely in three rounds and ends with a final contest in Bulgaria.

Autumn round – in October

Winter round – in January

Spring round – in March

Final – in June - July

3. In the three preliminary rounds the participants will compete either in their home school (if there are a minimum of 10 students) or in a partner school in the same area, on a day selected by the school (the day must be chosen from the calendar period).

4. Each round of the tournament is held in the form of a test for each group, which will last 60 minutes.

The number of problems in the test is 20, 10 of which have a multiple-choice answer and 10 have an open answer. (The students from Group 1 solve only 10 problems in the Winter round.)

The problems are composed by a team of specialists and consultants and are in accordance with the curriculum content for the respective age groups in different countries (Appendix 1 – MWB Syllabus).

The tests are available in the official languages ​​of the tournament: Bulgarian, English, Russian and Kazakh. If necessary the schools in the different countries should provide translations of the test in the language that is required by the participants.

The use of calculators and other digital devices (mobile phones, etc.) is not allowed. Students who take the test in a language other than their mother tongue, can use a dictionary.

5. Each participating school (or each partner school for the respective area / country), must email an application for participation (Appendix 2 – Application Formno later than 3 days before the start of each remote round of the tournament to: mwb_en@abv.bg and mwb_en@mathematicalmail.com     

6. For each of the rounds the school must transfer the registration fee for each student in the form of a donation, to the bank account provided by the organisers. The funds received are used by the organisers for composing the competition tests; for their translation into the official languages ​​of the competition; for processing of the results and for ranking; for providing certificates and medals; for postage and for other organisational activities.

7. Before each remote round, the organisers will send the tests for each age group, the answer key, an answer sheet and а sample result report.

8. The participating school (or the partner school for the respective area / country) must choose a convenient for them day and hour from the calendar period for each round and must then carry out the competition whilst providing an atmosphere of fairness and honesty. (Appendix 3 – A promise of fair competition).

The marking will be carried out by committees in the schools where the competition takes place.

Each correctly solved problem from 1 to 10 is worth 1 point, and each correctly solved problem from 11 to 20 is worth 2 points (if a problem has 2 or more answers: 1 point for a partial answer, 2 points for a complete answer). Total number of points: 30.

The results are filled in the report form which must be sent to: mwb_en@abv.bg and mwb_en@mathematicalmail.com no later than three days after the competition has been held.

The test report should be provided for the information of the competitors and their parents.

The schools where the competition has been held must keep hold of the competition papers until the final round of the tournament.

9. The ranking for each round is separate, and is carried out according to age groups.

The ranking is carried out according to the number of solved problems (points earned).

In the case of an equal number of solved problems, the higher ranked participant will be the one who has spent less time solving the problems.

The ranking will be announced no later than 10 days from the end of the competition period and will be published on the website of the tournament: www.mathematicalmail.com.

10. The prizes for each remote competition are gold, silver and bronze medals, and certificates for all participants.

The prizes will be sent to the address provided by the participant (full name of the recipient, institution, number, street, place of residence, postcode) within 30 days of the conduct of each of the preliminary rounds.

The number of students who receive medals in each competition will be up to 20% of the total number of participants - 4% will receive gold medals, 8% - silver and 8% - bronze.

After the completion of the three preliminary rounds of the tournament, the teachers who have been involved in it will receive a partnership certificate.


FINAL ROUND

11. Participation quotas for the finals in Bulgaria will be announced on the web site of the tournament after the second round.

Travel and accommodation in the town of Nessebar, Bulgaria, for students who will participate in the final competition and their teachers and / or parents will be at the expense of the participants.

For those who are unable to arrive in Bulgaria, there will be an opportunity for a remote participation in the tournament final.

12. The finals consist of two different contests – individual and team, held over the course of two days.

13. The number of problems in the individual contest is 20, 10 of which have a multiple-choice answer and 10 have an open answer. Each correctly solved problem from 1 to 10 is worth 1 point, and each correctly solved problem from 11 to 20 is worth 2 points.

14. The team contest takes the form of a mathematical relay consisting of 5 problems for each age group. The solution to each problem is used to solve the following problem. Each team, consisting of three students of the same age group, must solve the problems in 45 minutes and then fill a common answer sheet.

The first correctly solved problem is worth 5 points, the second – 4 points, the third – 3 points, the fourth – 2 points and the fifth – 1 point.

15. The contest papers are available in the official languages ​​of the tournament: Bulgarian, English, Russian and Kazakh. If necessary the schools in the different countries should provide translations in the language that is required by the participants.

Calculators are not allowed. Students who take the test in a language other than their mother tongue, can use a dictionary.

16. The participants who take the top three places in each age group in the final individual competition and in the team competition will receive gold, silver and bronze medals (the total number of medal holders will be 20% of the total number of the finalists from each age group).

The ranking is carried out according to the number of solved problems (points earned). In the case of an equal number of solved problems, the higher ranked participant / team will be the one that has spent less time solving the problems.

17. The ranking for the Mathematics without Borders Cups will be determined based on the sum of the two best results of the three remote rounds and the doubled result of the final competition. The three most successful students from each age group and country will be included in the ranking for the Tournament Cups.

The participants who hold first place in each age group will receive the Mathematics without Borders Golden Cup, those who hold second place will receive the Mathematics without Borders Silver Cup and those who hold third place will receive the Mathematics without Borders Bronze Cup. All cup holders will be awarded laurel wreaths.

18. Special prizes and the title Math Star of the Tournament will be received by each country's most successful contestant.

19. The Mayor of Nessebar, a patron of the tournament, will reward the most successful contestant and the teacher with the highest contribution to the tournament.

20. The teachers from all participating countries with the greatest contribution to the promotion of the tournament will be awarded by the organisers.

 The NESTIYA    ART  FESTIVAL  INTERNATIONAL BLACK SEA PEARLS IN BULGARIA”is looking to promote the identity of each country and the friendship between different nations. It’s looking to present the folklore wealth and traditions of the whole world, also to popularize Bulgarian music and dance arts from all folklore regions; to establish a cultural exchange between institutions and collectives from the country and abroad.

In this folklore event can take part ensembles and groups; dancing and vocal groups; soloists and instrumentalists from all over the world. This international event is looking to promote and share the folklore and traditions of different nations to strengthen the friendship and the identity of each country

  • The Project contains 3 principal directions:
  • Educational
  • The participants will study Bulgarian folklore dances. Also each country will present dances and music to the other foreign groups.
  • Festive
  • Every evening the groups will perform in different Bulgarian Black sea resorts.

Entertainment - beach, games, contests, trips, disco, theatre, sightseeing.

Purposes of our art events are:

To present the folklore wealth and traditions of the whole world.

To popularize Bulgarian music and dance arts from all folklore regions.

To establish a cultural exchange between institutions and collectives from the country and abroad.

The organizers are: Bulgarian Art and Folklore Centre “Nestiya”, Sunny beach AD, Municipality Nessebar, Municipality St. Vlas, Balkan alliance of folklore, Foundation “Nestia”, Association “Evterpani”, Association “Fontan”, and with the support of Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Culture.

The festival will be performed in two directions:

1.            Entertainment program:

-Groups will have 3 or 4 performances at the festival. Each group has to prepare 10-20 min. of quality program.

Performances are on the open air stages, wooden and concrete.

-It is not necessary to have live music. It is allowed to perform using CD or flash drive, but it has to be of a good quality recording.

– All participants will receive a certificate for participation.

– During the concerts the groups will participate in three competitions “Kryshna rachenica”, “Review of costume” and “Miss and Mister festival”

Performances of participants are assessed on a scale. The winners will participate in the ceremony of the GALA CONCERT and will perform the awarded performances at the gala concert. The program of the gala concert will be determined from the director.

ACCREDITATION IN THE FESTIVAL.

To participate in the competition of the festival, you should send the following documents:

– Application form

– Two color photographs of a good quality and in electronic format .jpg;

– Repertoire for the selected category (specify in the application form);

– List of participants and accompanying persons;

– Representatives of other countries should have national flag of his country;

– All participants of the festival to be health insured;

– Children under the age of 18 traveling without parents must have notarized permission to leave the country.

– The period of the passport must be valid at least 6 months after the end of the trip; 

AWARDS:

– Grand Prix „Nestiya-Black sea pearls 2026″ – a diploma, a trophy, a plaque;

– Big prizes „Nestiya-Black sea pearls 2026″ in categories;

– Diplomas and statuettes for laureates 1, 2, 3 degrees in categories:

  1. Dance
  2. Folklore Arts
  3. Vocal Arts
  4. Musical Arts
  5. Theatre and arts show

For individual categories: special awards.

All participants will be awarded with certificates.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE FESTIVAL:

The travel costs to and from the chosen resort should be covered by the participants.

•             The organization Committee will grant a fuel to each group, which comes with its own bus /fuel will be given for the distance from chosen resort to the performances’ places or cities/.

•             For the groups which come by plane, the bus will be reserved and covered by the Festival’s Committee. Bus will be available to participants during the days of concerts, and transports them to and from the concert venues. In case the group wants to go to the excursions out of the festival’s cities, should pay 90 euro for bus transportation per day. 

•             The groups which come by plane, should pay for the transportation service from the airport (airport in city of Varna or in city of Bourgas) to the festival’s city

3.            The groups have to send application form for participation, pictures and other advertising materials by mail.

● for groups / all sections 10 eur for each participant;

● for individual participation – 20 eur participation fee
